1. Uterine infection usually causes abdominal pain and a fever. If there is as sign of smelling vaginal discharge and heavy vaginal bleeding can also be an indication of uterine infection.

2. A uterine infection usually occurs only after the birth of a child. Objects inserted during a cesarean which increases the odds of a uterine infection.

3. There are 2 types of uterine infections such as early onset and late onset. Early onset starts within 3 days of birth and late onset anytime between 3 days to 6 weeks after birth.

4. A doctor will usually administer the situation with antibiotics before determing if the patient has sepsis. It may take an additional of 2 or 3 days in the hospital.
