Self Treating A Contusion Bruise



There will be bruise under the skin that would have occurred at one time or another during their lifetime. Here are few ways to treat contusion bruise by yourself.

1. Apply ice over the affected area after wrapping it in a cloth. This will help to protect the skin from frostbite. Press the ice pack gently on the affected area to decrease swelling.

2. Try to stay still as moving for the next 12-24 hours can reduce bleeding on the affected area. Taking complete rest can help in more severe case.

3. Consult a doctor for pain medication such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen to get relief from pain. It can be helpful in case of a very large contusion.

4. Avoid drinking caffeine or alcohol and even stay away from aspirin which can stop the blood at affected area. It can also extend the time of healing.
