1. Start a pregnancy journal on a blank notebook which is similar to a diary or get a specially designed pregnancy journals. The journal must have the details such as weight gain, cravings and thoughts. By noting the certain stages of pregnancy in the journal can help to keep the baby safe during the delivery.

2. Keep the stock of products that you will need before bringing the baby home. Find out the baby items like cribs and car seats by talking to friends, reading maternity books and researching online.

3. Prepare your home and get the details about preparing yourself when the baby arrives. You may have to clean out the bedroom or sort out your closets. Prepare yourself completely before the baby arrives home.

4. Go to birthing classes or parenting classes to prepare yourself accordingly for the labor and caring for newborn. There are many childcare and pregnancy books that can provide good help to prepare yourself.

5. Get referrals from your doctor or friends for pediatricians and set up an interview with them. A pediatrician’s nurse practitioner can also be considered.

6. Do regular exercise that is good for your health which can also help your physical appearance. Consult your physician about what exercise can suit for you when you are pregnant.

7. Try to visit your hospital or birthing center along with your spouse or friends. There are few hospitals and birthing centers that usually have tours designed particularly for expecting mothers.
