Taking Care Of A Lying Child

Teaching your children to be honest can be a difficult job if they are very small. Here are few steps for teaching your children to stop lying.

1. In case the child tells a story about her friends or older brother about making own lunches last week for the school, the child may be embellishing on the fact that she has made her own lunch. So never confuse lying with the exaggerated stories.

2. Let the child understand that his lying will not be tolerated and teach him that lying is wrong.

3. After teaching the discipline, discover why the child lied to you. In case the teenage son lied about looking for a job and instead he was with his friends, ask him why he lied to you.

4. Make sure the child knows you are open to communication and they can discuss all their problems with you.
