A missed menstrual cycle occurs for many reasons depending on age and lifestyle habits. To have a normal menstruation vagina, uterus, cervix and ovaries must be working normally. Any interruption in regular functioning of these can result in a missed menstrual cycle. Here are few reasons that can cause a missed menstrual cycle.

6. Hormonal problems including masculinization disorder can also make a woman to acquire physical characteristics of a male. This can also interrupt a normal menstrual cycle. Taking contraceptive pills will affect the hormones and interfere with a menstrual cycle for several months.

7. A serious health condition such as brain tumors or cancers can also cause a missed menstrual cycle. Taking treatment regimens such as chemotherapy, certain medicines or a radiation treatment can also affect a normal menstrual cycle.
