Reasons Behind A Menstrual Migraine



Most of the people who get migraines are women and in that most of them suffer during their menstrual cycles. Here are few reasons that can cause menstrual migraines.

1. Menstrual migraines are occurred due to the changes in estrogen level that occurs during the period. Estrogen levels will decrease when the woman’s period begins and migraines can occur after the estrogen and progesterone levels fall.

2. Birth control is also one of the reasons than can cause trigger migraines. These pills have a high dose of estrogen which can trigger severe menstrual migraines.

3. Immediately before the period begins, the magnesium levels will start to decrease which may also trigger migraine headaches. Menstrual migraines can be treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
