1. Melasma will cause brown skin discoloration on the sun-exposed areas and mostly found in women who take hormone replacement therapies, frequent sun exposure and taking birth control.
2. There are few treatments like the topical creams, steroids, laser treatments and chemical peels which can be used for treating melasma.
3. Melasma is caused due to increase in skin pigmentation which can be located in top layer or middle layer of the skin.
4. Wearing sunblock can help to decrease the risk of getting melasma. However it can be reduced on its own without any measures.
