Relieving A Nanny From Her Job

In case the nanny plans to quit her job, it can be a uncomfortable and awkward situation for most of the parents. You can offer the nanny to do anything to make her stay which will be good for both the parents and the child. Here are few ways that can help you to make a nanny happy when she decides to leave the job.
1. Always try to be understanding and if the nanny plans to go due to the things that have nothing to do with her, you must realize that she may get devastated. It can be difficult for the parents and the child may go to a kindergarten at this stage.
2. You can also give the nanny a letter of recommendation along with ample notice and severance pay. You may also give her a retention bonus which will make sure that she will not leave you shorthanded.
3. Give the nanny a going-away present in case there has been a close relationship between the nanny and your children. You can also have their pictures taken along with the family and give her one in a frame.
4. Speak to the nanny about unemployment compensation as you have paid the nanny on the books which can be filed for unemployment insurance. In case the nanny needs any financial help this will help until she finds another job.
5. If the nanny asks you about a certain move-out date, try to consider and also respect her wishes. The nanny can be without a job, so she may try to move out of the house at the right time, so give her some time.
6. It is also important to make sure that both you and nanny have correct details about the wages owed and received. Also give her last paycheck when she is leaving.
7. In case the nanny tries to resist termination and also tries to pick the children from the school even though she is no longer employed you must inform the school about this. Also notify the school about any change in the contact information and emergency phone numbers.
