Choosing the Right Facial Mask for Your Face
You can easily buy a sachet of facial mask at any chemist’s, but you need to know your skin type first. If you want to be sure of not irritating your skin, the best bet is to make your own mask at home, with the sort of ingredients most of us have to hand. Here are just two of my favourites:
Honey and egg mask
You will need 1 egg white, 1 tablespoon clear honey and 50g/2oz rice flour.
1. In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg white. Add the honey and flour and mix to a smooth paste.
2. Apply to clean skin, over the face and neck. It is a good idea to have steamed your face first, so your pores will be open. Leave for ten to fifteen minutes.
3. Wash off with cold water and pat dry.
Banana Mask
You will need 1 ripe banana, 25 g/1 oz fine oatmeal and 1 teaspoon clear honey.
1. Mash the banana in a bowl until soft.
2. Stir in the oatmeal and honey and mix to a paste.
3. Smooth over clean face and neck. Relax for fifteen minutes.
4. Wash off with clean, cold water. Pat dry and apply moisturizer.
