Michigan Laws For Abortion



There are different laws which has been introduced by the Michigan about abortion.

1. A doctor has few duties which have to take care about 24 hours before performing the abortion. The doctors must consider patient’s age and they must also explain the gestational age of fetus and details about pregnancy prevention. The patient literature must be provided by the doctor who must explain the process, physical complications and psychological effects after an abortion.

2. When the patient has an ultrasound before this procedure, doctor must give an opportunity to the patient or about 24 hours prior to the procedure. The physician must also provide a physical picture of ultrasound image.

3. Those who are below 18 years of age must not undergo an abortion without the consent of one of her parents or a legal guardian. A minor can petition the probate court if they don’t have any one for consent.

4. A partial-birth abortion is illegal when the doctor expects that the abortion is necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life.
